LEGAL NOTICE
Be advised that The Association of Academic Staff of the University of Alberta ("AASUA") has filed a judicial review application in the Court of King's Bench of Alberta, Action Number 2503 25612. The Governors of the University of Alberta ("GUA") is the respondent to the application.
AASUA is challenging the 25 November 2025 decision of the GUA to deny AASUA permission to set up petition tables at various locations on University of Alberta property to obtain signatures in support of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta rescinding the Back to School Act, SA 2025, c B-0.5.
The Alberta Rules of Court, AR 124/2010, Rule 3.15(3)(c) requires that AASUA serve its filed Originating Application for Judicial Review on "every person or body directly affected by the application."
On 9 January 2026 the Court of King's Bench of Alberta issued an order for substitutional service on "every person or body directly affected by the application" through advertising of this Legal Notice.
