Dear colleagues,

AASUA will be participating in a province-wide day of protest on May 29. The rally will protest provincial government actions such as the attack on workers’ rights through the use of the notwithstanding clause, which forced Alberta teachers back to work last fall.

When and where: Friday, May 29
11:15 am: Gather in Centennial Plaza (south of the downtown Stanley Milner Library at 9924 101A Ave).
11:30 am: March to join 600 healthcare workers rallying at the Edmonton Convention Centre. The rally will be over by 1:00 pm.

Attendees are encouraged to wear yellow. The rally coincides with the Health Sciences Association of Alberta (HSAA) Convention at the Edmonton Convention Centre. You can find out more at fightbacknow.ca.

Please note that although AASUA members are encouraged to attend the rally, we are not encouraging members to engage in work stoppage nor to neglect their job responsibilities as covered by the Collective Agreement.

In solidarity,
Gordon Swaters
AASUA President
